Despite being one of the most challenge postures of the spine strengthening series it is an excellent workout for the upper spine. You are simultaneously increasing flexibility of the spine while building back muscles. It is great for curing back and spinal problems such as slipped discs, sciatica and scoliosis. In addition, Locus Pose helps with arthritis of the hands and forearms while promoting blood circulation to the spinal nerve. Not to mention it is an excellent way to tone your buttocks and hips!
Tips
- Lift your legs on an exhale instead of an inhale.
- Understand that it you are not actually lifting with the legs but with your core while reaching and stretching your legs away from your body.
